notes on colours and markings:
The 25 Squadron crest may have been stencilled on all the operational SBD-5's. but until further evidence is found, I have only shown it on those where it does appear in photographs. |
| Since I did this artwork many years ago, some recent research by Gwyn Avenell of Auckland has been brought to my attention. I have accordingly modified several of the drawings based on photos he had unearthed, and a couple of these are now posted in these pages. I wish to thank Gwyn for his generous help to correct some of these markings, and point out a couple of glaring errors I had overlooked! The results of his research can be seen in the RNZAF model pages and the schemes below. These drawings are copyright to Gwyn Avenell, and may not be reproduced without his permission.
